NAY, but consider the moon! 32 and by the night when it recedes, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 Surely, it is one of the gravest things, 35 a warning to mortal man 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Every soul is a pledge for its own deeds; 38 except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 "What has caused you to enter Hell?" 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What aileth them, therefore, that they are from the admonition turning away? 49 as if they were startled asses 50 Fleeing from a hunter, or a lion, or a beast of prey. 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Nay! it is surely an admonition. 54 Let anyone who seeks guidance do so. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
