Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
