Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 With thy Sustainer, on that Day, the journey's end will be! 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
