Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 Yet when the eyes are dazzled, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
