Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
