Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
