Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 looking up to their Sustainer; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
