Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On that Day there shall be radiant faces, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
