Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Deemest man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat that Day. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
