Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching person (a believer). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
