Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
