Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 (Some) faces on that day shall be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Some people, certainly, do not believe in it, but when a person's soul reaches up to his throat 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
