Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Upon that day man shall be told his former deeds and his latter; 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: 'Who is a healing chanter' 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30

Notes and Instructions
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
