Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
