Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day man will be informed of what he sent forward (of his evil or good deeds), and what he left behind (of his good or evil traditions). 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Nay, when (the soul) reaches to the collar bone (i.e. up to the throat in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
