Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day, man will be told of all that he has sent before and what he has left behind. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and will be looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
