Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Then man will be told what he had sent ahead (of good) and what he had left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Again on Us (devolves) the explaining of it. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
