Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
