Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 when the sun and moon are gathered together 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay, but ye do love the fleeting Now 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
