Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon shall be ecliped. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
