Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks: When is the day of resurrection? 6 When the sight is dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 so they might think the Calamity had been inflicted upon them. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
