Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man imagine that We will not be able to bring his bones together again? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon will be united. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
