Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 (O Prophet), do not stir your tongue hastily (to commit the Revelation to memory). 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 To your Lord, that Day, will be the procession. 30
