Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I swear by the reproaching soul [to the certainty of resurrection]. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 By no means! NO refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
