Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I CALL TO WITNESS the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I call the reprehensive soul to witness: 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact man wishes to commit evil in front of Him! 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 Rather, man, against himself, will be a witness, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 for, behold, it is for Us to gather it [in thy heart,] and to cause it to be read [as it ought to be read]. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
