Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Indeed, We have the power to restore his very finger tips! 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 on that Day man will ask, "Where can I escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 on that Day, to your Lord alone is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not your tongue with it, [O Muhammad], to hasten with recitation of the Qur'an. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
