Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 asking [derisively,] "When is that Resurrection Day to be?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon becomes dark, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 But lo, man is well aware of himself, 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it to make haste with it, 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 Then indeed, to explain its details to you is upon Us. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he is sure that it is the (hour of) parting 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
