۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 He asketh: When will be this Day of Resurrection? 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 NAY, but [most of] you love this fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 On that day, the herding will be only towards your Lord. 30
