Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Nay, We are able to put together in perfect order the very tips of his fingers. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 And the moon darkens 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No! There is no refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 and then, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And men say: Where is the wizard (who can save him now)? 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 The drive will be, on that Day, to your Lord (Allah)! 30
