Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto thy Lord is the recourse that day. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! Man will be a witness against himself [as his body parts (skin, hands, legs, etc.) will speak about his deeds]. 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 and then, behold, it will be for Us to make its meaning clear. 19 No! But you love the immediate 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 Some faces on that Day will be fresh and resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that day some faces will be ghastly. 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord then will be the driving. 30
