Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 on that Day will man exclaim "Whither to flee?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 And even if he presents all the excuses he has, none will be listened to. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to give you (O Muhammad SAW) the ability to recite it (the Quran), 17 And when We have recited it to you [O Muhammad SAW through Jibrael (Gabriel)], then follow you its (the Quran's) recital. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 and he realises that the hour of parting is come, 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
