Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 Yet man is sceptical of what is right before him. 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day will man say: “Whither the refuge?” 10 No! There is no refuge. 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man shall on that day be informed of what he sent before and (what he) put off. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 in spite of all the excuses he may offer. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking toward their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
