Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Yea! WE are Able to put together evenly his finger-tips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 But [on that Day], when mortal sight is confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that day, people will be informed of all that they had done and all that they were supposed to do. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So, as We recite it, follow its reading. 18 Then lo! upon Us (resteth) the explanation thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 And leave (neglect) the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 Looking to their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 Fearing that a great disaster is going to befall them. 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 and when it is asked: "Could any magician save him now?"; 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
