Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are joined, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 By no means! No place of safety! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Nay, man will be evidence against himself, 14 Though he puts forth his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Truly, you love immediate gain 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking toward their Lord; 23 and upon that day faces shall be scowling, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 But when [man's soul] reaches the throat, 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one leg will be joined with another: 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
