Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the sight becomes dazed, 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Ours it is to gather it, and to recite it. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation (by Us). 18 And thereafter verily upon us is the expounding thereof. 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Thinking that some calamity was about to fall on them; 25 By no means! When it cometh up to the collar-bone. 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and calf is inter-twined with calf. 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
