Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 It's gathering and reciting is upon Us. 17 So when We have recited it [through Gabriel], then follow its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 And leave the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing towards their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?" 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
