Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 Does man think We shall not put his bones together? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 At length, when the sight is dazed, 7 and the moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But nay: no refuge [for thee, O man]! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 Countenances on that Day shall be resplendent, 22 Looking at their Lord (Allah); 23 Others will be despondent, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And there will be a cry, "Who is a magician (to restore him)?" 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 And the leg is wound about the leg, 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
