Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 And by oath of the soul that reproaches itself. 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man shall say on that day: Whither to fly to? 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 nay, but man shall against himself be an eye-witness, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 It is for Us to collect it and to promulgate it: 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 How many faces will be refulgent on that Day, 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be sad and dismal, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 and it is said: “Is there any enchanter who can step forward and help (by his chanting)?” 27 And he will conclude that it was (the Time) of Parting; 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
