Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Shocker (Al-Qaare'ah) before The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ Nay, I swear by the Day of Resurrection; 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Indeed yes, We are able to shape his fingerstips yet again! 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Aye! man against himself shall be an enlightenment. 14 Whatever the excuses he may offer. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Indeed, upon Us is its collection [in your heart] and [to make possible] its recitation. 17 When We recite it, follow its recitation. 18 The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay, but when the life cometh up to the throat 26 And it is cried. who can charm? 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 And one shank is entangled with the other shank. 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30

ColorfulQuran.com displays pages in one of three Arabic fonts. Each may appear with a one-third chance, adding more diversity to the already diverse colors. And the words remain unchanged forever. ColorfulQuran.com will have more beautiful fonts soon, God willing.
قراءة القرآن مترجماً إلى الإنجليزية أو أية لغة أخرى أشبه بقراءة كتب التفسير من قراءة ترجمات حرفية.
Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.
