Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Nay! I swear by the day of resurrection. 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Yea, verily. We are Able to restore his very fingers! 4 None the less man chooses to deny what lies ahead of him, 5 He asketh: when will the Day of Resurrection be? 6 So when vision is dazzled 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 and the sun and the moon are joined together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 even though he offers his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 None except you, O disbelievers – you love what you have, the fleeting one. 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 Yes indeed, when the soul will reach up to the throat. 26 And it will be said: "Who can cure him and save him from death?" 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 and leg is intertwined with leg, 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
