Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Does man think that We cannot assemble his bones? 3 Surely yes, why not? We can properly make all his phalanxes. 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He asks, "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 the moon eclipsed. 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Although he may put forth his pleas. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 Verily upon us is the collecting thereof and the reciting thereof. 17 When We have recited it, follow its words attentively; 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 Nay, (ye men!) but ye love the fleeting life, 20 and give no thought to the life to come [and to Judgment Day]! 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And [some] faces, that Day, will be contorted, 24 Knowing that there will be made to befall them some great calamity. 25 No! When the soul has reached the collar bones 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 at that time towards thy Sustainer does he feel impelled to turn! 30
