Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man (a disbeliever) think that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 'When will the Day of Resurrection be' he asks, 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and moon will be joined together (by going one into the other or folded up or deprived of their light, etc.) 9 That Day will Man say: "Where is the refuge?" 10 Certainly not! There will be no place of refuge. 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 Oh, but man is a telling witness against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely on Us (devolves) the collecting of it and the reciting of it. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 Then upon Us is its clarification [to you]. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Upon that day faces shall be radiant, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 Thou wilt know that some great disaster is about to fall on them. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And anguish will be heaped upon anguish: 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
