Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ By the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I swear by the self-reproaching soul. 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 Yet man wants to deny what is ahead of him: 5 He asks, "When will be the Day of Judgment?" 6 but when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 Upon that day the recourse shall be to thy Lord. 12 That Day will Man be told (all) that he put forward, and all that he put back. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue concerning the (Qur'an) to make haste therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 and are heedless of the Everlasting Life. 21 Some faces, that Day, will beam (in brightness and beauty);- 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 He will then realise it is the parting, 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 unto thy Lord that Day is the drive. 30
