Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul! 2 Does man assume that We will never assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: “When will the Day of Resurrection be?” 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 [Prophet], do not move your tongue too fast in your attempt to learn this revelation: 16 We shall be responsible for its collection and its recitation. 17 Thus, when We recite it, follow thou its wording [with all thy mind]: 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 gazing upon their Lord; 23 And countenances on that Day shall be scowling. 24 believing that a crushing calamity is about to strike them. 25 Yea, when (the soul) reaches to the collar-bone (in its exit), 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he (the dying person) will conclude that it was (the time) of departing (death); 28 when his legs are brought together [when affliction is combined with affliction]; 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
