Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay! I swear by the self-accusing soul. 2 Do men think that We shall never be able to assemble their bones? 3 Yes indeed; We are able to shape again his fingers. 4 But man desires to persist in his evil ways. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 Even if he presents his excuses. 15 Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 Then it is for Us (Allah) to make it clear to you, 19 Human beings certainly do not want to pay much attention to the Quran. In fact, they love the worldly life 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he knows that it is the time of parting; 28 And leg will be joined with another leg (shrouded) 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
