Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 No! I swear by the reproachful soul. 2 What, does the human think We shall never gather his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Rather, the human desires to continue in his immorality, 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed, 8 And sun and moon are united, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 To your Lord, that Day, is the [place of] permanence. 12 Man will be informed that Day of what he sent ahead and kept back. 13 nay, man shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though they make excuses. 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 So when We have read it, you should thereupon follow what is read. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Not [as you think, that you (mankind) will not be resurrected and recompensed for your deeds], but (you men) love the present life of this world, 20 and neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And that day will other faces be despondent, 24 In the thought that some back-breaking calamity was about to be inflicted on them; 25 Nay! When it comes up to the throat, 26 and people ask, "Is there any wizard [that could save him]?" 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 and is enwrapped in the pangs of death 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
