Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 and by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We cannot [resurrect him and] bring his bones together again? 3 Yes indeed; We have the power to remould even his finger-tips. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks: "When will the Day of Resurrection be?" 6 When the eye is bewildered, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 On that Day shall man say: whither is the fleeing. 10 No, there shall be no (place of) refuge. 11 Unto your Lord (Alone) will be the place of rest that Day. 12 On that Day will man be apprised of his deeds, both the earlier and the later. 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 Although he tender his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 But when We have promulgated it, follow thou its recital (as promulgated): 18 Nay more, it is for Us to explain it (and make it clear): 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 Others will be despondent, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 And he knoweth that it is the parting; 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 On that Day you will be driven to your Lord. 30
