Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 And I do call to witness the self-reproaching spirit: (Eschew Evil). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 We certainly have the power to restore them even the very tips of their finger. 4 Nay! (Man denies Resurrection and Reckoning. So) he desires to continue committing sins. 5 He asks: "When will be this Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when sight is confounded 7 And the moon will be eclipsed. 8 And the sun and moon are conjoined, 9 Man will say on that Day, "Where is the [place of] escape?" 10 Never! There is no refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, man himself is keeping an eye on his state of affairs! 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 MOVE NOT thy tongue in haste, [repeating the words of the revelation:] 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 then it will be for Us to explain it. 19 By no means! Verily ye love the Herein. 20 and are oblivious of the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will be radiant on that Day, 22 Looking at their Lord. 23 And (other) faces on that day shall be gloomy, 24 Imagining that there will befall them a waiste-breaking calomity. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 and it is said, 'Who is an enchanter?' 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 that will be the time to be driven to one's Lord. 30
