Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 But man desires to continue in sin. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 And the moon is eclipsed 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 On that day man will cry out, “Where shall I flee?” 10 Alas! No refuge! 11 The only place of refuge will be with God. 12 To man will be declared on that Day that which he hath sent on and left behind. 13 Nay! man is evidence against himself, 14 even though he might make up excuses. 15 Do not move your tongue with it (the Revelation) to hasten it. 16 Lo! upon Us (resteth) the putting together thereof and the reading thereof. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 But no. You love this transient life, 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 Some faces will on that Day be bright with happiness, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 knowing that a crushing calamity is about to befall them. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And the dying one is certain that it is the [time of] separation 28 And one shin will curl up with the other shin. 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
