Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ I swear by the Day of Resurrection. 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes, We are Able to put together in perfect order the tips of his fingers. 4 In fact, people want to have eternal life in this world. 5 He asks, “When will be the Day of Resurrection?” 6 But [on that Day,] when the eyesight is by fear confounded, 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 On that Day man will say: "Where (is the refuge) to flee?" 10 No, there is no refuge. 11 Before thy Lord (alone), that Day will be the place of rest. 12 On that day man is told the tale of that which he hath sent before and left behind. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 Even though he were to put up his excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Indeed assembling the Qur’an and reading it are upon Us. 17 And when We read it, follow thou the reading; 18 Then Ours it is to explain it. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 And neglect the hereafter. 21 On that day, some faces will shine with freshness. 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 And on that Day there shall be scowling faces, 24 certain of facing a great calamity. 25 No indeed; when it reaches the clavicles 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and when he thinks it is the time of departure 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 upon that day unto thy Lord shall be the driving. 30
